Nail story for Harper's Bazaar Holiday issue!

One of my first jobs as creative director here at Bazaar was to create a concept for a nail story.  I didn't want it to be the stereotypical "hand on face" kind of nail story that is typical with fashion magazines.  In this case the magazine recruited some luxury products for the hands to hold so that we could incorporate some of our advertisers into the story as well.  It was meant for the December issue so the green background was just a holiday color to round out an issue that contained a lot of red.  With this being a bit more still life oriented, the perfect photographer was a local here named Wing Chan who founded Bite Studio.  Wing does a lot of the food photography for advertisers such as Pizza Hut and KFC.  I was able to guide a bit with my art direction to translate his still life skills into the beauty realm.  The results were extremely sharp and vibrant!  It was perfect for the Holidays!
